A series of relocatable homes, ranging from 116m² to 133m², were constructed concurrently over three months. On-site works commenced in the final month of off-site fabrication and continued for three months, achieving a streamlined five-month total delivery.
Consortium adopted a dual local procurement approach, using in-house labour and Christchurch-based suppliers for prefabrication, and Queenstown-based subcontractors for on-site delivery. This enhanced coordination, flexibility, and efficiency.
Key lessons included the value of early engagement with local authorities, strong logistics planning, and the benefits of overlapping off-site and on-site programmes. The project reinforced Consortium’s capability in delivering high-quality, efficient modular solutions.
